Chapter 79.3
No matter what kind of creature it was, death comes to all. Even if it was an imaginary creature, as long as Caspar believed in it, death would come. The blow to the neck was undoubtedly fatal. It severed an artery, creating a torrent of blood that painted everything around in red. One or two buildings were toppled, and soldiers were swept away by the stream.
Caspar’s limbs lost strength. His knees buckled, his elbows gave way, and his torso sank to the ground. Caspar realized that death was near.
At that moment, Caspar fixed his gaze on an Orc who remained calm amidst the torrent of blood.
—De… ne… neew… newt… —Accepting death, Caspar cast a spell. Magical energy swirled within him, altering his body. He quickly shrank until he became an old man. Both tendons were cut, numerous holes riddled his back, and scars around his neck reached the carotid artery. When Caspar placed his hand over the wound, it healed instantly. Advanced Healing Magic, but it couldn’t do much. He had lost too much blood. Healing magic did not restore lost blood. He was dying. He was going to die right now.
Bash and Zell approached Caspar. They looked perplexed. They probably hadn’t realized that they had been fighting against a human.
“What… is happening?”
“Mister, isn’t this the Human Sage, Caspar?”
Ah, it didn’t matter. They wouldn’t care about such trivialities. There was only one thing Caspar needed to tell Zell.
“Lady Zell.”
