Chapter 3157: Can You Predict What I’m Going to Do Next?
Chapter 3157: Can You Predict What I’m Going to Do Next?
With a hint of mischief, Ning Shu asked Wen Xing, “Can you predict what I’m going to do next?”
Wen Xing glanced at Ning Shu and said, “Go to the bathroom.”
Ning Shu: …
Well, she’d hold it in, then.
“You drank so much water earlier. It’s inevitable that you’ll have to go to the bathroom sooner or later,” Wen Xing explained.
Ning Shu found this rather amazing. Although Wen Xing was only using a spell and not the actual time ordinance, it was still quite remarkable.
She couldn’t help but develop an urge to learn spells.
Though spells weren’t true ordinances, they were still a tool. Power in any form had its value.
As long as that power could be used, it was good power.
One might call spells unsophisticated but her Unsurpassable Martial Arts was even more so. However, it had now become something that she planned to construct her world upon. What could people even say about that?
While she was deep in thought, Ning Shu suddenly felt the urge to use the bathroom. She rolled her eyes, then grabbed her gun and headed to relieve herself.
A prophecy about needing to pee? Really?
Ning Shu crouched in a secluded spot to do her business when she saw a monster, the size of a man’s fist. It wriggled excitedly toward her, ready to leap.
Without even pulling up her pants, she fired her gun and vaporized the monster on the spot. Nothing was left of the monster after that.
Only after dealing with the monster did Ning Shu calmly pull up her pants. Her expression remained unchanged throughout the entire ordeal.
2333 suddenly said, “Ning Shu, you’ve changed.”
Ning Shu gave 2333 a mental side-eye. “How have I changed? Have I become more beautiful? And be honest, can you see me when I go to the bathroom?”
2333: …
“I meant that you’ve started to become a competent task-taker. You’re able to stay composed in all sorts of situations,” 2333 explained.
Indeed, she could drink coffee in a cafe and eat steak elegantly in a high-end restaurant in one task world, and then pick up garbage to eat in order to survive in the next.
It was the first time Ning Shu had heard 2333 compliment her. She flicked her hair and smugly said, “I’ve always been this exceptional. Don’t be too awed by me.”
“However, in my heart, you’ve always been a mischievous little imbecile. That still hasn’t changed.”
2333: …
She was the imbecile. She was the biggest imbecile!
When Ning Shu returned, Wen Xing was busy with his phone. She glanced over and saw that he was reading the news.
“Any updates?” Ning Shu asked.
“The city is sealed off. The highway leading here has already been blocked,” Wen Xing replied. He put away his phone and leaned back against the wall with his hands behind his head.
Ning Shu rubbed her aching calves. “Looks like this place’s economy is going to take a hit.
“I’ll have to find a new city to work and buy a house in.”
Wen Xing: “???”
Shouldn’t they be talking about dealing with the monsters first? Why was she always talking about buying a house all day!?
“Economic decline is unlikely. After a disaster, there’s always massive rebuilding,” Wen Xing remarked.
“So, it’s a good time to buy property here?” Ning Shu decided to go take a look at housing prices after this matter was resolved before deciding whether or not to make a purchase.
Wen Xing: …
Their conversation ended there. Both of them closed their eyes to rest. Once they felt refreshed, they began searching for monsters again.
They walked on foot without using a vehicle. There were times when they even had to venture into the sewers, which was extremely exhausting.
Wen Xing helped Ning Shu carry her medical kit, and they took turns carrying it.
Ning Shu had used up much of the medicine in her kit, but with many pharmacies closed, she had no choice but to search for supplies at hospitals.
Hospitals were overwhelmed, with many medical staff injured.
Ning Shu wanted some antibiotics and anesthetics but was told they were out of stock.
Ning Shu: …
“I can redeem some supplies. After all, I have elevated privileges now,” Wen Xing said. A box of medicine appeared in front of him, with antibiotics and anesthetics in it.
As time passed, the monsters began growing larger. Some were now the size of a washbasin.
