Chapter 286 - 284 All Minor Matters [4 Updates]
Hannah listened to Maya’s threat and immediately explained, "No, no! It definitely won’t leave a scar. Medical technology is so advanced now, it won’t have any impact."
"Sister Taylor, please see the guest out." Maya didn’t want to say anything further, and after speaking, she turned and headed upstairs.
Seeing this, Hannah immediately stood up from the sofa and knelt down with a "plop," pleading, "Maya, I’m begging you, give Elia a chance!"
"Sister Taylor, please see the guest out." Maya heard Hannah kneeling but remained unmoved, as she would never plead with Liam for Elia’s sake.
Sister Taylor listened to the command and quickly called a few young servants to help Hannah up.
"Maya, you bitch, you won’t die a good death. Don’t think that you can turn the tables. Liam will eventually leave you, and your Hanson Family will be ruined. I curse you to die a horrible death, you bitch, I won’t let you go."
"Maya, you bitch, just like your mother, low and cheap. Besides flaunting yourself, what else can you do? Don’t let me catch you, or I’ll find someone to ruin you."
At this moment, Hannah’s ugly face finally revealed itself. Her insults towards Maya were what she prayed for every day. She was determined to find an opportunity to kill Maya, and she was always searching for this opportunity.
On the spiral staircase, Maya listened to Hannah’s curse, her eyebrows tightly knit together. She thought, fortunately, she didn’t soften earlier, and she needed to find a chance to get Hannah into trouble.
It was not until she entered the study room in her bedroom that Hannah’s voice gradually faded away.
Standing expressionlessly in the place where Liam once stood in front of the bookshelf, she raised her head and glanced over the books, thinking, with so many books, she only has three bookmarks, how did they get discovered, truly puzzling.
Meanwhile, Maya also worried that Liam might tell Lillian, exposing her secret crush, which was terrifying compared to anything else. Just thinking about Lillian looking at her with odd eyes made her uneasy.
But in the following days, her life continued quietly as usual, with no disturbances from Liam and no news from Lillian.
Until a week later, major news media were reporting about Morris Clan Group’s stock plummeting, along with shareholders withdrawing their investments.
On the sofa in the living room, Maya watched Lillian being surrounded by reporters for interviews. Her heart inexplicably twisted into knots, and she began to worry involuntarily.
"Young Master Morris, in the past week, Morris Clan Group’s stock has plummeted, and there are signs of shareholders withdrawing funds. Can you tell us what is happening with Morris Clan Group?"
"Young Master Morris, the two major projects of Morris Clan Group have recently been suspended for inspection procedures. Can you tell us what happened in the process?"
"Young Master Morris, it is rumored that Owen Clan Group intercepted one of Morris Clan Group’s major projects in Eastern Europe. Are the two companies at war? Do you have the confidence to outperform Third Young Lord?"
Faced with the journalists’ inquiries, Lillian avoided answering, hurriedly heading into the company building.
This sudden incident was entirely beyond his expectations, and it was obvious that Liam was behind these maneuvers. The bewildering part was why Liam attacked him. Although he did advise Maya before, wasn’t that matter already over?
Over the past few days, Jane Spencer visited Owen Clan several times but couldn’t extract any reasoning from Liam.
On the sofa, Maya stared directly at the television, watching the weary Lillian. She swallowed hard, clenching her small fists tightly, her eyes turning red.
She hadn’t expected that Liam, the scoundrel, didn’t target Hanson Clan Group but instead attacked Lillian’s company, which made Maya uncomfortable. She thought, Lillian hadn’t done anything wrong, he had no idea she liked him.
Liam’s unreasonable behavior filled Maya with pent-up anger, making her want to reason with him, but she knew very well that confronting Liam would only fuel his arrogance and make things more difficult for Lillian.
However, sitting idly at home, doing nothing, allowing Liam to act recklessly was unsatisfactory to her.
So she changed clothes, drove her car, and left the villa.
At the intersection, a left turn led to Morris Clan Group, and a right turn led to Owen Clan Group.
After a moment of hesitation, Maya finally turned the steering wheel left. She decided to visit Lillian first, at least to let him know why he was attacked by Liam.
In the car, as she thought about confessing her feelings to Lillian, her heart rate accelerated, jumping faster and faster until her whole body trembled.
Maya had never liked anyone before, and she had never confessed to anyone.
Though she usually appeared quite shameless, when faced with the purest emotions deep in her heart, she felt shy and timid.
Ever since Liam discovered her feelings, she dared not even mention the name Lillian, and hearing those two words caused anxiety, like she had done something wrong.
She didn’t know how to express her feelings, and naturally, it couldn’t be expressed, it had to be hidden.
As the vehicle got closer to Morris Clan Group, Maya’s speed became slower, and she even began to regret coming to find Lillian.
But there was no turning back now, avoiding was not the solution, she had to face it, and she had to let Lillian know the truth.
Ten minutes later, the vehicle stopped in the Morris Clan Group’s parking lot. Maya stayed in the car for a while before opening the door, taking the elevator to Lillian’s office.
Outside the chairman’s office, Maya was about to knock when someone came out from inside.
The moment the door opened, she saw Lillian sitting solemnly at the desk, flipping through documents.
"Miss Hanson." The person who opened the door was surprised to see Liam’s girlfriend at Morris Clan Group at such a time.
Inside the office, hearing Miss Hanson, Lillian immediately looked towards the door and asked, "Maya, why are you here?"
When Lillian spoke to Maya, his facial expression changed from seriousness to a very calm demeanor, even with a smile hanging at the corner of his mouth.
Maya looked at Lillian smiling at her and felt awkward all of a sudden, so she bashfully called, "Brother Morris."
Seeing that awkward look on the girl’s face, Lillian’s mind quickly understood. The matter bothering him for a week finally had a lead.
Then he said to the subordinate, "Little Song, you may go about your work."
"Yes, Chairman."
Following that, he quickly stood up from the desk to welcome Maya, saying, "Maya, don’t just stand at the door—come in."
Looking at Lillian’s enthusiasm, Maya felt even more embarrassed. She took a deep breath and walked into the office slowly, sheepishly saying, "Brother Morris, I just saw the news."
Seeing the worry between the girl’s eyebrows, Lillian reached out his right hand and rubbed her head, saying, "It’s nothing, just some small issues, they’ll be resolved soon."
The more Lillian comforted Maya, the more upset she felt inside, increasingly unsure of how to confess her mistakes to him.
