Chapter 263 - 261 Take It Away [Update 1]
"Maya, stop overthinking. Look at me." Maya played dead, so Liam lost interest and stopped kissing her. Instead, he cupped her face, making her look into his eyes.
Listening to the man’s command, Maya slowly lifted her eyelids and looked at him blankly, saying, "If you like my body, just take it."
This time, she completely gave up, without any hope or resistance.
Liam looked at her indifferent attitude, her disregard, and felt inexplicably stifled in his chest. He wanted to ask, what more he needed to do for her to see him and for him to have even a small piece of her heart.
He took a deep breath, cupping her small face, and angrily looked at her lifeless expression, hoping she would give him some reaction.
However, seeing his angry eyes, Maya gently lifted her small hand, removed his large hand from her face, and said indifferently, "Don’t want me anymore? Haha, Third Young Master still being polite, what a surprise."
After speaking, Maya turned her back to begin untying the ribbon of her wedding dress,
Wasn’t he greedy for her? If so, let it be; anyway, what’s the difference between her and the dead now? What does she care for anymore? No need to hold back, as long as he is happy.
Unfortunately, the wedding dress’s ties were too complicated, and after fussing for ages, she couldn’t untie them.
Liam watched her initiative, feeling not an ounce of joy, but rather more annoyed. He stood still, neither angry nor offering help.
After a while, Maya’s hands were sore from pulling, yet the dress was still on.
Finally, she let out a helpless sigh, quickly turned around, leaned against the door, back to Liam, and said, "Want to sleep with me, undress yourself."
"Pfft!" Liam was initially upset, but Maya’s little gesture amused him.
He looked at Maya leaning against the door, and for a moment, he indeed had an impulse to take her, a strong one.
So, he slowly raised his right hand and untied her wedding dress’s belt for her. Soon, the dress slipped from her body to the floor, and she still leaned her right cheek against the door, arms resting by her head, motionless, waiting for Liam’s next move.
Behind her, the man looked at her flawless skin, the pink cartoon panties on her hips clashing with the wedding dress on the floor. He took a deep breath, held it, and stared at her back without taking further action.
For a moment, the room was as still as a painting, with about 20 centimeters between them.
Liam’s calmness surprised Maya, but she still didn’t react, merely closed her eyes gently, resting against the door, feeling tired and wanting a good sleep.
The man watched Maya gently close her eyes, then approached her again, spread his arms, and gently pulled her into his embrace.
Maya thought Liam was going to sleep with her, so she swallowed hard, waiting for his next move.
But Liam just patted her bottom and said, "Go shower and sleep, it’s been a tiring day."
The man’s unexpectedness left Maya dumbfounded, thinking, did he really take her as Grace? Actually feeling sorry for her?
So, she turned her head, gave him a disdainful smirk, indicating he was wrong.
The man, seeing Maya’s little eyes, took a deep breath, pinched her nose, and asked, "Maya, what kind of look is that?"
Hearing his question, Maya rolled her eyes at him and then stepped out of the wedding dress, unabashedly walked past Liam in just her panties, heading straight to the bathroom.
When she returned to the bedroom from the bathroom, Liam was already showered, dressed, and lying on the bed watching TV.
Maya glanced at the man, and walked straight toward the bedroom door, not intending to sleep beside him.
Seeing this, Liam quickly patted the empty space beside him and said, "Sleep here."
Listening to his command, Maya turned back toward the big bed, still with no expression, not insisting on sleeping in the guest room. After all, if he wanted her, she couldn’t escape.
On the big bed, once Maya laid down, she closed her eyes, preparing to sleep. Seeing this, Liam immediately lay on his side next to her, caressing her small face and asking, "Kinsley is marrying someone else, are you unhappy?"
"You ruined my plans, leaving me without a reason to live." At this point, she was very honest. She had nothing left to lose, so she wasn’t afraid to be candid with him.
"Is it that serious? Being with me doesn’t give you the motivation to live? Seems like Maya forgot how I made you feel comfortable." The man said as he pinched her chin and pecked a kiss.
Listening to his teasing words, Maya took a deep breath and said, "I’m not you; I don’t live for bodily pleasure."
"Then what do you live for?" Liam feigned seriousness, playing along with her topic.
"To take revenge on you, to let you taste what it’s like to be bullied." She was still honest.
"Revenge? What deep hatred is there between us? Besides making you comfortable, what else did I do?" To Liam, he honestly didn’t think he had done anything horrible, other than sleeping with her, what else was there?
Fine! Indeed there was more, but to him, those were trivial matters unworthy of mention, things he never cared about.
But he didn’t know how much he had hurt Maya, nor could he understand the mindset of a victim being bullied.
Maya, hearing his sophistry, rolled her eyes at him, ignored him, and continued to close her eyes to sleep.
Liam looked at her quiet demeanor, feeling a wave of heat in his body, watching her trembling eyelashes, and couldn’t help but swallow, then moved his body closer to her.
Then, he whispered by Maya’s ear, "Today’s the bride, Maya, how could the bride sleep alone?"
If Liam hadn’t mentioned the bride, Maya wouldn’t have felt uncomfortable, but hearing it now, she felt uneasy again, though she couldn’t vent, so she tightly closed her eyes, giving no response.
Immediately afterward, she felt Liam’s kiss on her lips, a strong wave pressing against her, followed by his heat.
Before their engagement, Maya certainly wouldn’t have resisted Liam’s charms, reaching out to hook his neck on her initiative, yet today was different; she no longer had any interest in him.
Liam saw the girl ignoring him, his lips curled slightly upward, and he gently caressed her with his right hand.
