Maya Spencer listened to the man's impatient voice, rolled her eyes at the shadow on the elevator door, and stopped talking.
She thought he had cooled down! Turns out he's still sulking! What a mystery.
Just as her eyelids dropped after the eye roll, he suddenly encircled her from behind, his left arm around her flat stomach, and his right hand gently pinching her neck.
Maya was dumbfounded again, thinking, is he not done yet, is he testing me again? Hasn't he tested enough?
Before she could get angry, she felt the man's face pressed against her neck, questioning, "Did you just glare at me?"
"I did not!" she denied, thinking, this is insane, even when I'm facing away he can see my eye roll.
Then, he asked, "Getting a perfect score, was that to drive me out of the Spencer Family?"
Liam Spencer loved to hold her like this from behind, burying his face in her neck, talking softly while holding her earlobe, her small frame nestled in his embrace, making him feel like he was holding a cozy pillow.
Hearing his question, Maya suddenly felt cheerful. Perfect score? She actually aced it.
But how could she admit that she did it to drive him away? Even if she thought so, she couldn't say it!
