Chapter 12: Rare Smile
Looking at the man, Maya Spencer immediately had a bad premonition in her heart. She felt she was about to be sold off by Hannah. How could this woman invite her to dinner out of kindness? And to nourish her body? She's probably hoping for her early death to avoid competing with Elia Spencer for inheritance.
Though she had never thought of competing for inheritance, the mother and daughter before her believed otherwise.
"President Bailey, these are my two daughters, Elia Spencer, Maya Spencer. Please look after them."
Listening to Hannah's introduction, the man quickly sized up Elia Spencer and Maya Spencer. When his gaze fell on Maya, he couldn't help but swallow and said, "Madam Spencer, your daughter is truly beautiful."
"Isn't she!" Hannah, seeing the man swallow while looking at Maya, felt both angry and pleased.
Angry because Elia didn't look as good as Maya; pleased because President Bailey seemed interested in Maya, suggesting her plan was on the right track.
If she could marry off Maya, this little vixen, to the man, he would surely be delighted. This would kill two birds with one stone – forge ties with this man to elevate her status in the Spencer Family and eliminate this vixen for Elia.
The man stared at Maya, quickly sat down beside her, turned his head, and looked at her without moving, asking with concern, "What would Miss Spencer like to eat?"
"Tch!" Elia, seeing the man's flattering behavior towards Maya, let out a cold tch to show her dissatisfaction, standing alongside Maya before the man. She had always remained invisible.
