Chapter 8 Are We Familiar?
"What are you up to! When people do good deeds, they don't leave their names. Everyone in the bar knows you saved me, what more do you want?"
Maya, being pulled up from the sofa by Liam, complained impatiently to him, entertaining the onlookers at the bar.
"Maya, you have some nerve, haven't you? Have you reached adulthood yet? How dare you run away from home and spend the night at a bar?"
Liam always knew he had a sister, but he had no idea she turned out to be quite attractive; he didn't know her age, height, weight—in short, he knew nothing about her.
"Is the third young master showing concern for me?"
Liam's reprimand was very much like a brother scolding his sister, but to Maya's ears, it was rather displeasing. If this man really intended to treat her as a sister, how could he have disregarded her objections and conducted such a thorough body search last night?
Furthermore, despite her not stealing anything, he punished her by making her write a self-reflection and also deliver speeches in each class.
Maya had never been subjected to such indignation before. She wasn't afraid of losing face; her dignity had been buried along with her mother the moment she passed away. She just felt it was a waste of her breath.
Nevertheless, Maya knew Liam's care for her was merely out of fear that she might do something scandalous outside and bring embarrassment to the Spencer Family. Even though he's with the Owen Family, he's still the third young master of the Spencer Family.
"Care? Are we even that familiar? You can embarrass yourself however you like, but don't disgrace the Spencer Family."
Sure enough, Maya's guess was spot on; he only cared about the Spencer Family's reputation.
