Chapter 82: Bickering Couple
Chapter 82: The Feuding Couple
When Chu Ge saw the all-too-familiar decor, her heart momentarily softened. But as soon as she heard Lin Chengdu’s words, any trace of tenderness evaporated, replaced by a surge of anger so fierce she could hardly resist the urge to tear apart his fake smiling face.
Lin Qin couldn’t bear watching the scene unfold. He had just seen tears welling up in Chu Ge’s eyes, only to see them forcibly held back because of a single sentence from Lin Chengdu.
At his young age, he could already tell—his father was a complete pushover in front of his mother, albeit a very prideful pushover.
Chu Ge took a deep breath, finally managing to suppress her anger. She spun around, shot Lin Chengdu a furious glare, and marched off to the kitchen in her high heels, the sharp "click-clack-click" echoing with every step. As she passed by Lin Qin, her tone suddenly softened into one of remarkable tenderness. "Sweetheart, what would you like to eat? Mommy will cook it for you."
Lin Qin smiled at her. "I’m okay with anything."
To be honest, it had been a long time since Lin Qin had eaten anything cooked by Chu Ge. In fact, if he thought about it carefully, it had been even before the divorce. During the worst of the incessant arguments between his parents, Chu Ge had already stopped cooking.
Chu Ge wasn’t actually a great cook. Before marrying Lin Chengdu, she was a pampered young lady who had never so much as lifted a finger in the kitchen. But she truly loved Lin Chengdu. For him, she gave up her thriving career and her social circle, just to settle down and be a homemaker. In only two years, she went from someone who couldn’t fry an egg to someone who could whip up a feast.
The Lin family came from an influential lineage. The two had grown up together, and their relationship as childhood sweethearts was strong. Chu Ge had been spoilt and indulged from a young age, and before their marriage, Lin Chengdu treated her like a princess. Even after they got married, he still doted on her as though she were his world.
