Shen Zhiyi didn’t realize the position of her fans had changed until it was time to walk the red carpet. They had moved from the middle-back to a very front position, and during breaks in the photoshoot, several girls enthusiastically greeted her.
There wasn’t time to think deeply about it; Zhiyi signed her name on the signature wall at the end of the red carpet, paused for a while, and then entered the interior of the convention center where the photographer, whom she had scheduled in advance, was already waiting.
After changing into another silk, dark red slip dress, Shen Zhiyi cooperated with the photographer for over an hour and was finally able to return to the resting room prepared by the organizers for a brief rest.
As soon as she stepped into the rest room, Pei Yu followed right behind her, almost pressing against her back. Then the door was locked from the inside, and as she turned around, she was lifted up into his arms.
"Hey—" Shen Zhiyi hooked her arms around his neck, as he carried her to a chair.
Before she could say anything, Pei Yu had already removed the particularly uncomfortable high heels she had been wearing. Despite the blister prevention pads she’d used, her ankles were still rubbed red.
Pei Yu frowned, "Does it hurt?"
"A little," Zhiyi didn’t expect him to notice, as she thought she had endured it quite well. She hadn’t limped, scrunched her brows, or gasped in pain; probably even Xiaodong hadn’t noticed, "When did you realize?"
"When you were descending the stairs," Pei Yu was not in a great mood, having accompanied her for an entire afternoon of work, only to see her tired and struggling with such uncomfortable shoes while having to repeatedly pose for the photographer.
"I thought I endured it pretty well."
In front of him, Shen Zhiyi always felt like her acting skills were awful, as if he could see through any pretense at a glance. However, she didn’t dislike this feeling.
