The car pulled up beside her, and the driver’s side window rolled down.
“Why are you running?” Shen Lingfeng asked, his hand on the steering wheel, looking at her sweaty appearance.
Gu Ziyou didn’t have time to respond; she dashed to the passenger seat, opened the door, and hopped in. “Mr. Shen, I’m going to be late. Can you give me a lift? Thank you!”
At this hour, she’d have to wait a while for a taxi.
The quickest way was to ride with the BOSS. The BOSS can’t be late, right?
If she were late even taking the BOSS’s car, could she really be blamed?
Shen Lingfeng glanced at her dark circles, said nothing, and continued driving.
It wasn’t particularly late when they returned yesterday, yet she looked like she hadn’t slept.
“Didn’t sleep well last night?”
Seeing rare initiative in his question, Gu Ziyou propped her head up with her hand and spoke, “Yeah. If I hadn’t bumped into you, I think I would be late again… Mr. Shen, let me seriously ask you something—how many more times can I be late before I fail my probation?”
He replied flatly, “Hmm.”
“Well… if it gets to that point, could I work full-time as your assistant?” Gu Ziyou asked cautiously.
“My assistant gets to the company earlier every day.”
She immediately discarded the idea.
After pondering with a thick-skinned expression, she looked at him, “Mr. Shen…”
Shen Lingfeng stopped at a red light, waiting. Hearing her tone, he had an inkling of what she wanted to say. “Speak your mind.”
“Do you drive to the company around this time every day?”
Gu Ziyou had already calculated in her mind that carpooling would be great.
“Hmm.”
“Your car is so spacious; would you mind having an extra passenger every day?”
She’s available 24/7, so taking a carpool shouldn’t be asking too much.
“You?”
Gu Ziyou smiled, “Yes, we live in the same neighborhood. And Mr. Shen, I won’t delay you. If you don’t see me, you just go ahead. If you spot me, can you stop and let me hop in? It’s just along the way, and it won’t waste your gas money. You know, driving alone is quite boring; having someone else makes it more interesting, right?”
She felt that loneliness, boredom, and emptiness were the words that definitely struck a chord with him.
The result was just as she had hoped.
“If you’re late, I won’t wait for you.”
“Okay, okay!”
“I won’t drop you off at the company entrance, can’t be seen.” If the company people saw, the gossip would only harm her unless she wanted to announce her identity.
“That’s fine too.”
After reaching an agreement, Gu Ziyou resolved a significant problem in her life.
Thus, she went happily through the days, taking BOSS’s car to work every morning.
On some occasions, she left a bit later but managed to catch the BOSS’s car, thankfully coinciding with him being slightly late too.

“It’s more than that. That’s just one of his properties in Hai City. He also has a villa but rarely stays there.”
