Chapter 930: Chapter 930: Hidden Feelings (Part 1)
Mu Xing heard him use the word “disdain” and corrected, “When did I ever say disdain?”
“So, you don’t mind?”
“Minding and disdaining are two different things. Didn’t you learn Chinese well?”
Bai Lingyun was silent for a moment, “I grew up abroad.”
Mu Xing assumed he was admitting his Chinese wasn’t good but didn’t understand how he could make so many Chinese films if that were the case.
“But your words make sense. Let me get you a glass of water.” Mu Xing thought for a bit, avoiding his gaze.
On her way out, she ran into Lu Wanwan, who was carrying a thermos box.
“Young Madam.”
Lu Wanwan smiled, her bright eyes curved, and raised the thermos box in her hand, “Grandma told me to bring this over, saying she’s already full and the rest is a treat for fellow patients and those taking care of patients.”
Mu Xing pointed inside, “Then Young Madam, give it to him.”
“No way.” Lu Wanwan shoved it into her hands, “Grandma said it’s fine to give it to you, there’s some for you in here too.”
“How can I take it?”
“Of course you can, we really owe it to you just now.” Lu Wanwan clasped her hands together, “If you hadn’t stepped in, the Old Madam wouldn’t have believed it. But honestly, was that real? Have you guys been public for a while?”
“No, that’s fake!” Mu Xing shook her head and explained, “The public part is fake too!”
Lu Wanwan was quite doubtful, looking back and forth between them, “I just looked at the news carefully again; it didn’t seem like you needed to pretend, and it didn’t look like you were secretly filmed…”
“It wasn’t…”
“Whatever.” Seeing Mu Xing eager to explain, Lu Wanwan laughed, “Anyway, thank you. I made the porridge myself as a token of appreciation. I won’t keep you, I’m heading back first to get some rest.”
After Lu Wanwan left, Mu Xing came back with the porridge.
“Do you want to eat?”
Bai Lingyun yawned, “I’m full, you have it.”
Mu Xing accepted the porridge, as she hadn’t eaten much in the morning.
A nurse came to take his temperature again, “The fever’s gone.”
Mu Xing put down the bowl, “Since the fever’s gone, can he be discharged?”
“If the fever’s gone…”
“I’m still a bit tired and need some rest.” Bai Lingyun interrupted, lazily leaning back on the hospital bed.
Nurse: “…Even though the fever’s gone, it’s best to observe for one or two more days, maybe two or three.”
“The fever’s gone, and you still need to observe for that long? Do you even know how to treat patients?” Mu Xing felt baffled.
She didn’t have time to spend a few days here; even though taking care of him wasn’t too hard to accept, she still had a lot to do.
She contacted Gu Shao’s people, who told her not to worry for now.
She knew Gu Shao must think she had injured Bai Lingyun, so he was giving her time to sort out her personal matters.
“She’s a nurse, not a doctor; of course she doesn’t need to know how to treat patients.” Bai Lingyun signaled the nurse to leave, “Don’t worry, I won’t bother you for long. I should be leaving by noon today. I have serious business; I’m not just hanging around in the hospital to sleep.”
As he spoke, he gave the Director a call to explain his noon flight.
“Didn’t you say you could start shooting this morning before you left? We’re waiting for you, and now you say you can only leave at noon? Doesn’t that mean you’ll arrive tonight?”
“Uh, sorry, Director, I’ll be ready to leave in the afternoon; I don’t need to rest for two more days.”
Director: “…”
