"You don’t need to make this kind of decision," Bai Lingyun said with sunglasses on, waiting for the red light, his scarf already taken off and set aside. "He’s used to this kind of stormy weather, he’ll know what to do. Otherwise, think about it, how has he survived all these years?"
Because of Bai Lingyun’s connections, all the windows in the car were closed.
Lu Wanwan looked outside through the window, "Maybe so. Have you or your mother ever asked how he ended up on this path?"
"Who knows him," Bai Lingyun gave a helpless smile with a strand of black hair falling across the frame of his glasses. "He seems easy-going and harmless, even like someone who would easily be swayed by his elders. But actually, he’s incredibly stubborn; he left home early and my mother has gotten used to it. Somehow, one day he just completely left the Bai Family and told me he was giving up all his inheritance rights."
Lu Wanwan quietly listened.
"Inheritance rights are nothing," Bai Lingyun shrugged, a smile still playing on his attractive lips. "He really underestimates me. But what I didn’t expect was that he didn’t just give up the inheritance rights, he also never returned home from that day forward. Initially, the Bai Family knew they had two direct grandsons, but as time passed, they probably thought he was dead somewhere outside."
"What about your father?"
"My father," he chuckled. "How would I know? I haven’t seen him for years; he might be somewhere enjoying life with his tenth mistress or so."
After a pause, he became more serious, "Don’t worry, I’ve arranged it with him. I will cover for him that day, and I’ll also go to the airport, making sure someone ’accidentally’ leaks my schedule."
"But you two look a bit alike, wouldn’t that make it easier for him to be recognized?"
"Silly girl, do you think he would just walk out? He will definitely make some changes to his appearance. We may have similar facial structures, but not the eyes. It’s easy to change other aspects slightly; no one will mistake him for me. He’s my brother; I have this responsibility, but you don’t."
