After quickly settling on half an hour for the trial fishing, Lin Yang came to a vacant fishing spot near one side and started his trial fishing.

Actually, fishing is just like going to war; it always depends on the right timing, location, and cooperation. Facing unfamiliar fish behaviors, Lin Yang could quickly grasp key information such as the fish’s biting patterns and bait-eating habits after fishing for a while.

He waited patiently, double hook with bait, one with a scatter shot, and after pulling several rods into the water, the baiting spot quickly showed activity.

The Crucian Carp here in Japan are quite interesting too—they aren’t afraid of the atomized bait at all. After a while of scatter shooting, various line-nudging actions would soon appear. There weren’t many bites from the bottom, but often the movements were quite good—lifting the rod would result in anchors, with the hook not in the mouth.

The fish caught were also short and stocky, somewhat similar to the high-back Crucian Carp back home.

With rich platform fishing experience, Lin Yang quickly judged that the density of crucian carp here was high and their feeding desire was strong, but they acted quite frenzied when faced with a large amount of scatter shot in the water.

The few fish he caught had swallowed the bait quite shallowly; several times, they bit well before he lifted the rod, resulting in the hook catching just a bit of the lip.

This indicated that the fish in the pond were quite slippery, often biting the bait tentatively, so the bait couldn’t be too dispersed and needed an appropriate increase in hook attachment.

There were also certain demands on the rig setup; too thick a leader line would hardly be bitten.
