The Top Fishing

As Lin Yang continued to fiddle with one of the rifle suppressors, a uniformed store clerk approached him. "Hello sir, can I help you with anything?" The American Caucasian woman in her thirties had a stiff expression but was still polite.

Lin Yang shook his head, "Just looking around."

Seemingly detecting his awkward, Chinese-accented English, the clerk said, "According to Florida law, only US citizens or green card-holding immigrants can purchase and use firearms. Tourists and students do not meet the purchase eligibility requirements."

Lin Yang and his companions nodded, put down the suppressor they were holding, and turned to leave.

Once the regulations began to be discussed, the implication was clear: they didn’t qualify to buy, so there was no need to continue looking.

After leaving the area, Zhang Lin whispered in Chinese, "So many American Caucasians are like this, they seem polite but keep you at arm’s length. I’m used to it by now, and I don’t know where they get this sense of superiority from, acting like they’re better than everyone else."

Wang Feng just laughed it off, "The old saying goes, the customer is God. No matter how arrogant, they still greet us, which is enough for me. Is there anywhere else fun? Let’s keep looking around."

Zhang Lin suggested, "Let’s go check out the speedboat area, it might be useful for you guys in the competition. But it’s next to the club activity zone, and I think photography might not be allowed there, so be careful."
