They also utilized a combination of round carving, semi-round carving, high relief, deep relief, and low relief techniques to create layered carvings, vividly portraying the storyline of the Legend of the White Snake. Despite being very familiar with this love story, everyone still found the carvings immensely captivating.
The group then ascended several more levels; the second level featured the "Wu and Yue Tower Building Map", the third had a display of engraved poems, the fourth held a directional map of West Lake’s ten sights, and the fifth was topped with a golden dome...
Each level was suffused with a breath of culture and art, treating everyone to a visual feast.
After exploring Leifeng Tower, the group continued their tour around the lake, enjoying Su Di in spring dawn, Lotus Pond under Evening Wind, Autumn Moon over the Calm Lake, Melting Snow on the Broken Bridge, Orioles Singing in the Willows, Huagang Viewing Fish, Leifeng Hill at Sunset, Twin Peaks Piercing the Clouds, Evening Bell at Nanping Hill, Three Pools Mirroring the Moon... They had seen just about every one of West Lake’s ten sights.
However, some sceneries could only be seen under specific conditions. For instance, Autumn Moon over the Calm Lake only appeared on autumn nights, while Sunset Over Leifeng Hill required waiting until evening, as well as the Evening Bell at Nanping Hill and Three Pools Mirroring the Moon which are also best at night.
