This time they were using shrimp as bait, Nine-section Shrimp, also known as Banded Shrimp, which is a species very similar to Banded Shrimp and often confused by many people.

There are two ways to differentiate Nine-section Shrimp from Banded Shrimp; if you are experienced, you only need to look at the color.

In terms of color, the Nine-section Shrimp are a bit more greenish compared to the Banded Shrimp, which have a more blue-brown body color, are larger in size, and have thicker shells.

If you’re a novice, then you should look at the shrimp’s vitality. Banded Shrimp have strong endurance once out of water, so they are often lively when removed from water, while Nine-section Shrimp secrete a substance upon leaving water which causes their death, so typically, Nine-section Shrimp die after being out of water and are sold as ’dead shrimp’ on the market.

Lin Yang had bought these shrimp baits during lunch at the fishing port restaurant, purchasing two pounds directly, with very good freshness.
