"Would you be kind enough to do so?" Inara requested with a sad smile.
"Yeah... No," Akamir replied, walking closer to her.
"I don't want to die because I listened to your last wish."
Inara chuckled bitterly, shaking her head. "Do you make jokes to everyone about to jump?"
Akamir shrugged. "It depends, honestly."
Akamir leaned against the railing as he observed her.
She wore an elegant and detailed white dress.
The moonlight caught on the lace of her sleeves, making her look almost ghostlike.
Her silver hair was loose, tumbling down her back in soft waves, and her feet were bare, one already half-dangling over the balcony's edge.
"You're serious?" Akamir asked, glancing up at the sky.
Inara didn't look at him. "I think I've lost the right to be taken seriously."
