Chapter 158: The Orgin of the Lenard family
"So, Uncle... this is where you’ve been hiding all these years?"
Percival’s voice carried a mix of emotions—relief, disbelief, and a quiet storm of unanswered questions. He had found his sister and now his long-lost uncle. But how had Primo ended up in this remote village on the border?
Primo just hummed. He signalled for Darius to join his other brothers outside. Darius paused before Lara, who gave him a slight pat on the head. Darius stepped back and finger-combed his hair. He threw Lara a curious glance before darting outside.
"What brings you here, Perci?" The older man had overcome his initial shock and was now thinking rationally. "I heard you were in Hainai, but unfortunately, our paths did not cross." He tried to change the topic.
Lara observed Primo closely, her sharp eyes lingering on his face. She was certain he had made deliberate efforts to avoid crossing paths with anyone from the Norse family, and most especially, with General Odin.
Percival stole a furtive glance at Lara. "Trying to convince my sister to come back with us." He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Huh? Lara?" Primo was confused. "Why would you look for her here of all places?"
"It is because she is here, Uncle. I haven’t introduced you yet." Percival grinned.
Primo’s expression darkened in confusion. His memories of his sister’s only daughter, Freya, were hazy. The boys often traveled to Zamaya, but Lara had always been left behind—it was a grueling three-day journey by carriage, and his sister had been unwilling to part with her. Primo had only seen the girl once, when she was three.
Percival turned to Lara, "Sis, Uncle Primo is Mother’s younger brother," he revealed, his voice carrying a hint of elation.
Lara’s breath caught in her throat, a rush of unexpected emotions washing over her. The revelation stirred something deep within her; it was astonishing to realize that this man was not just a distant figure but a cherished family member—one who shared her mother’s bloodline. Even if her soul was different, she and Primo still shared that same bloodline.
