Chen Li’s lips parted, her expression venomous, but before she could unleash whatever fury was boiling inside her, the door swung open with a sharp creak.
Xia Lin stepped inside, eyes darting between the two women.
Hua Ling, had already left so Xia Lin did not get to see the imprint on her face, Chen Li stood rigid, her fists clenched so tightly that her nails dug into her palms.
And then there was Hua Jing—unbothered, smirking, as if she had just watched an entertaining street performance.
Xia Lin’s gaze sharpened, immediately sensing something was off.
She narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "What happened here?"
Chen Li huffed, her nostrils flaring, but she knew better than to make a scene now. The wedding banquet was still in full swing, and she had guests to impress.
Without another word, she stormed out, her silken robes billowing behind her like a dark cloud.
As soon as the door shut behind her, Xia Lin bolted toward Hua Jing, grabbing her shoulders and inspecting her from head to toe with dramatic urgency.
She looked quite worried especially considering the way Chen Li had walked out
