Chapter 218: Audacious
Leon stood in the doorway, towel clinging to his hips, water droplets still glistening on his skin. The steam in the bathroom made everything feel hot.
He glared at Riven, who leaned against the wall with a smirk, arms crossed, clearly enjoying the moment.
"Don’t you have any manners?" Leon’s voice was sharp, but it wavered slightly, betraying his anger. "How dare you barge into a king’s room like that?"
Riven raised an eyebrow, unfazed. "I knocked and called out to you. When I heard water noises, I thought you were in trouble! Lions can’t swim well, you know?" His smirk widened, and the playful glint in his eyes made Leon’s heart race.
Leon’s scowl deepened as he tried to ignore the way Riven’s gaze flicked over his exposed muscles. "That’s not the point! You don’t just walk in on someone like that—especially not when they’re... Busy!"
"Well, if I had known that before... I would’ve offered to help." He laughed cheekily.
Leon’s face flushed a deeper shade of crimson as the embarrassment washed over him, and he shifted, desperately trying to find solace in the towel. "That’s not funny," he muttered, avoiding Riven’s gaze.
"Though it might sound funny to you, I was being serious... Do you... Need a hand?" Riven laughed, a bright sound that echoed in the otherwise quiet room.
Leon caught Riven’s gaze lingering on his exposed muscles, and his cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and something else he couldn’t quite define. "Get out!" he barked, voice sharper than he intended.
