Chapter 102: Discussion
Riven’s heart pounded so loudly it almost drowned out the muffled sound of the water. Soren’s mouth moved confidently, claiming Riven’s lips with a fierce, almost desperate passion, and Riven couldn’t help but melt into it.
There was a tenderness to how Soren cradled Riven’s face, his thumbs brushing lightly over his cheeks as he held him close. Riven’s hands found their way to Soren’s chest, fingers splayed out as if trying to ground himself amid the overwhelming sensation.
Bubbles escaped from his nose as he sighed into the kiss, his mind blissfully blank as Soren poured his emotions into the touch.
The kiss was both possessive and protective, as if Soren was trying to remind Riven that he held his life, his entire being, in his hands.
Riven could feel the frustration and jealousy mixed with a hint of vulnerability, and it made his heart ache. He kissed Soren back just as fiercely, trying to convey his own feelings without words—his desire to reassure Soren that he wasn’t going anywhere.
When his lungs started to burn from the lack of air, Soren finally pulled back, his forehead resting against Riven’s as he held him in place. Their eyes met, and even through the distorted water, Riven could see the intensity of Soren’s gaze, his pupils blown wide with desire.
With a swift motion, Soren pushed them both to the surface, breaking through the water with a gasp. Riven coughed lightly, wiping the water from his face as he looked up at Soren, who still had him cradled close. The steam from the warm bath surrounded them, creating a hazy atmosphere that made it feel like they were in their own little world.
Soren smirked down at him, brushing Riven’s wet hair back from his forehead. "Still think you can order me around?" he teased, voice low and rough from the kiss.
Riven gave him a half-hearted glare, his cheeks flushed and his lips tingling from the contact. "You might kill me at this rate." Riven joked.
