Chapter 96: Caged
Soren’s cold glare could have frozen a blazing fire. Standing at the doorway, his arms folded tightly over his chest, he looked like he was ready to rip Ronan apart without a second thought. He barely kept his voice in check as he spoke.
Ronan sighed, he should have ignored the knocking.
"Since it’s over, get out of my house." Soren warned.
Ronan glanced back over his shoulder to make sure Riven was still sound asleep. Once he was certain that his mate hadn’t stirred, he slowly closed the door, keeping his movements calm and measured.
All the gentleness he had shown earlier had vanished, his gaze icy as he looked Soren straight in the eyes.
"I will be taking back my mate," Ronan declared firmly. His voice was resolute, leaving no room for negotiation.
Soren scoffed, his eyes narrowing. "Even if Riven wanted to go back, which he doesn’t, I won’t let that happen. Unlike you, I don’t care if Riven hates me. I’ll use any method to keep him by my side."
Ronan’s eyes narrowed and his frown deepened. He wasn’t fazed by Soren’s arrogance—he had already expected a reaction like this. "You can try, but I know for a fact that Riven can’t stay away from me. Denying my mate is cruelty. You know it just as well as I do."
Soren smirked, "You know how many resources, riches and people I have under me. I will find a way to sever the connection if I have to."
