Chapter 39: A Bunny
The room was quiet except for the soft crackling of the fireplace. Ronan stood by the bedside, arms crossed as he looked at the sleeping figure tucked under thick blankets. The black wolf ears atop the man’s head twitched slightly in his sleep, his tail curled near his side.
Ronan exhaled through his nose. He’ll be fine. But still, he hesitated.
After a long moment, he turned and walked out the door. As he did, a soft knock came from the hallway.
"Come in," Ronan said, and the door opened to reveal a slender young man with soft white hair and pink eyes. Elliot stepped in carefully, holding a small medical bag against his chest.
"You called for me, Alpha Ronan?" Elliot’s voice was quiet but filled with warmth.
Ronan gave a short nod. "Take care of him."
Elliot hesitated. He glanced at the sleeping figure on the bed, noticing the black wolf ears and tail. "Who is he...?"
Ronan didn’t answer right away. His gaze lingered on the unconscious man before he finally said, "Just heal him, Elliot. That’s all you need to know."
Elliot bowed his head immediately. "Of course."
With that, Ronan left, shutting the door behind him. Elliot was now alone with his patient.
Elliot moved closer, setting down his bag. His family had always been healers—loyal, kind, and uncorrupted, even when it left them struggling. But now, under Alpha Ronan’s protection, things had begun to change. He had been given proper resources, and more importantly, trust.
