Chapter 20: In Heat?
R- Rip it off? Riven wanted to squeal! His eyes could not be taken off of Ronan who slowly loosened his tie...
Ronan’s fingers worked his tie loose, the black silk sliding between them with agonising slowness. The sharp tug he gave at the end sent a jolt straight down Riven’s spine.
His ears twitched, his tail flicking in anticipation, but he was rooted in place. He shouldn’t be staring. But damn it, how could he not?
Ronan’s icy blue eyes burned into him, filled with something dark and unreadable. No, not unreadable—dangerous. He was angry. Very angry. And Riven was making it worse.
"You’re not moving," Ronan said, voice low, dangerous. He gave him orders did he not? Was he daring to disobey the Alpha?
Riven swallowed hard. He wanted to move, but his legs weren’t listening.
The tie was discarded. Then Ronan rolled his sleeves up. Slowly. Methodically. One fold at a time.
The veins in his forearms flexed, muscles tightening. Riven knew it was intentional—knew Ronan was drawing this out, making him watch, making him feel the weight of what was coming.
His stomach clenched, his heart hammering so fast he thought it would give him away.
Ronan took a step closer.
Riven instinctively backed up, but the bed was right behind him. His knees hit the edge, and before he could catch himself, he was sinking down onto the mattress.
