Xiaopang didn’t leave on his father’s side ever since. His father couldn’t see or feel him but Xiaopang tried his best to be there.
But still, he was just a ghost. He cannot do anything.
Thus when he saw his father getting drunk and was slowly walking towards a cliff behind their farm house, he panicked and fear envelops him.
He floated towards his father and tried to shout at him. Xiaopang roared and pleaded to stop but he couldn’t do anything. He was just an ordinary soul at that time.
Thus even when no matter how he screamed, his father never heard him.
At the end, he could watch in grief when his father jumped from that cliff and got drowned by the strong waves below. Aside from his father being drunk, he also had no will to live anymore after losing them, so Xiaopang saw his father didn’t even struggle and just let himself drown and eventually die.
