Chapter 218: Cousins
Early the next morning, in the Feng family’s villa, Xing Xiayan finally opened her eyes in dazed.
Feeling dizzy, it took her a while to fully regain her senses. When she noticed her unfamiliar surroundings, she opened her eyes wide in fear.
Feeling someone holding her hand, she looked around and saw Guan Wufeng, who had fallen asleep beside her, sitting on the ground. The sight of him eased her fear, and her eyes grew teary.
As she looked at him, tears slipped from her eyes. Remembering what had happened before she lost consciousness, she called out softly, "Brother Wufeng—"
Hearing her voice, Guan Wufeng stirred from his sleep. He frowned before he opened his eyes. When he felt the hand in his palm tremble slightly, he instantly woke up. Looking up, he saw his girlfriend crying with an aggrieved expression.
Seeing her awake, he sighed in relief. He stood up and sat on the edge of the bed. Guan Wufeng leaned down to kiss her forehead gently and hugged her tightly as he said, "Yanyan, I’m so sorry. It’s great that you are awake."
When she heard his apology, Xing Xiayan broke into sobs. She buried her face in his arms and asked, "Brother Wufeng, that bad man came to get me again. I was so scared. Why did you come so late?"
Guan Wufeng’s heart ached hearing her cries and feeling her body tremble with fear. Closing his eyes, he hugged her even tighter.
"Yanyan, it’s my fault. I’m so sorry I was late. But you are safe now, don’t be afraid. I won’t leave your side again, I promised," he said hoarsely.
