Chapter 158: As Sweet As Honey
Yan Yunci hooked his fingers with hers and said in a low voice, "I am still angry with you, but you have already started to teach me a lesson."
While she complained, she still felt heartbroken for him. This was the second time in so many years that she had seen him lying so weakly in the hospital.
The first time was when he protected her from distant relatives of the Yan family, and was beaten by them. He was pushed from the balcony of the second floor by them and broke his leg when he fought with them.
Fortunately, there were dense bushes under the balcony and he was still young. So, he didn’t injure his head and could recover without any problems.
Recalling her childhood memories, she held his hand tightly and said, "Yuhan, I promised to listen to you. So, you are not allowed to get hurt again."
"Besides Grandpa, you are the most important person in my life. I can’t lose you. So you must take care of yourself. If anything happens to you, I will ignore you and never forgive you," she added.
Just when she thought no one heard her, Chen Yuhan’s eyelids were trembling and he tried hard to pretend to be asleep despites his fast beating heart.
His heart beat violently when he felt her playing with his fingers, and his heart nearly jumped out of his chest when she intertwined their fingers. He could barely resist holding her hand tightly.
’Yunci, I promise to never make you worry anymore. I’m sorry and thank you,’ he thought inwardly.
