Chapter 159: Always
Elian couldn’t say anything back to Bianca’s accusation. They were not strangers, nor were they only friends or allies in the same faction. They were lovers, Tyrant and Anchor, husband and wife.
While many said there had to be no lies between spouses, many would claim that it was dependent on the circumstances. More often than not, love was the reason why one would want to shield his beloved from the truth.
The Tyrant might be able to use his INT stat to figure out physics and plots, but it was useless in relationships.
"I am sorry, Bianca."
"Let me guess, mothers said this was her freedom, right? That’s why you let her," Bianca deduced between sniffles.
Elian grew wide-eyed but made a small nod. Using his thumb, he gingerly wiped Bianca’s tears away. Her body no longer trembled, but she still rested her body on Elian’s. It made him feel good; even when she was mad, Bianca still sought him.
"Sigh. It is only during moments like this that I hate the culture of Fralhame. What use is being free if you are dead anyway?" she complained.
"Well, to some, not being free is the same as denying themselves. I am sorry, Bianca. You know I would never lie to you without just cause..."
Bianca turned her body and rubbed her face on Elian’s chest. "I know. I know how much you treasure me. I am also sorry I lashed out. I can pretty much guess how it went. Mom wanted to go because she wanted to enact vengeance in my stead, correct?"
