Chapter 140: Guild
"Lucian" rolled his eyes and repeated his statement once more for the camera.
"Yes, I’m certain. Elian Reed washes his hands with his left hand over his right. He didn’t use the dryer; he wiped his hands on his pants. No, he didn’t fix his hair. And no, I didn’t see him check his phone."
Kate Summers grinned at the camera. "There you have it—the latest scoop on how the man of the hour uses a public restroom. Be sure to tune in next time for our new documentary: Elian Reed—The Hero and the Man!"
Elian had trouble maintaining his smile and wanted to reach out and strangle the woman before him. But as he was currently Lucian, he had to maintain his act.
The crap I have to do to get some peace around here.
"That’s all for me; this is Kate Summers, live in Crestfall City for Channel 9 News."
"And—cut. That was a good take, Kate; this info is gold. We should run it in the primetime slot," the cameraman suggested with a greedy smile.
"Hell yeah, it is. Half the other stations couldn’t even get a witness. none of the people could even look at Elian Reed." She then turned to Elian and took out a fifty-crown bill along with a business card. "Thanks, sugar. You’re cute. If you’ve got any more stories to tell, let me know."
Kate winked while slipping both the money and the card into his shirt pocket. Elian, however, frowned in disgust at the gesture.
"Sorry, I doubt that I would be so lucky to meet Mr. Reed again," he snapped.
"Oh, such a shame." The reporter replied with a shrug. She looked up and smiled at Elian while walking away. "Well, that may be true; still, I like your face. If you’re ever looking for a casual hookup, just let me know, sugar."
