As they fell, Elian dropped like a brick, although Bianca no longer had a physical body she couldn't separate that far from her core. The two of them plummeted together. Outside of the tunnel the light from the mushroom and grass could no longer reach them.
Thus they raced downward in absolute darkness.
"ELIAN! ELIAN! ELIAN! WHERE ARE YOU!"
Frantically a woman shouted, devoid of her usual elegance. Elian noticed the terror in his master's voice. Unwilling to let her remain distraught, Elian replied just as loud for her to find him.
"Bianca! I'm here! Listen to my voice."
"WHERE ARE YOU?! ELIAN! DON'T LEAVE ME! ELIAN! ELIAN! PLEASE!"
Something is wrong. She sounds terrified.
Elian himself had uncomfortable memories related to absolute darkness. It was during the painfully long crawl from the tunnel to Bianca's tomb. While the memory still made his heart clench in discomfort, back then, he had Bianca's voice to support him.
Knowing that his master passed the same thing alone he immediately understood. No matter how powerful Bianca Valestra was. She died alone in darkness. Bound there, Bianca must have gone insane. The frozen garden that gave the tomb some light, must have come from years of effort.
