Chapter 21: Name
The air froze still as if time had stopped. As the moon's light shone behind her, her shadow seemed larger than life. Winds blew but her clothes did not even flutter. It was as if the rules of this world did not bind her. She stood above them.
Seeing her immense power, everyone couldn't even move. The wicked chill reminded them that they were all in her domain. She brought down meteors that ruptured the entire battlefield. Even after her knight protected them, he couldn't save everyone.
The Knight did not feel. It asked not to judge, but to know. Even the goddess called it her weapon—an object. A thing. Something that does not choose.
But the one who rose to the skies was different.
She had both will and emotion. And right now, everyone saw how she felt. There were over a hundred people in the knight's dome. Yet only five people slowly froze to death.
Considering how abruptly the ice shards had formed and disappeared earlier, the slow and agonizing execution was not slow due to a lack of power. It was of choice.
It was slow because she wanted everyone to see. She needed everyone to know.
I can kill you all as easily like stepping on a cockroach, whether through absolute chaos or quiet stillness. Even if you know, you can do nothing. Even if you scream, no one will help you. For I am present. And you will all follow my will.
It reminded both the students and teachers of one thing. The only thing that mattered in this world was absolute power. That granted one control over not only freedoms but even life. Everyone lowered their eyes and kneeled. Despite witnessing such a graphic execution, they all shivered in silence.
It was only then that she spoke.
"This matter ends today, speak of it no longer. Get out of my sight. My Weapon, let us go."
