Chapter 308 - 297: Post-Event Update
Qin Xi was supposed to work overtime today, but after making a call back home, she heard Su Yan on the line saying that Mr. Li had gone to the branch police station because there had been a bank robbery at the bank where Li Xianglu worked.
When Qin Xi heard this, her legs nearly gave way. However, after hearing that everyone was okay, she felt somewhat relieved, took leave from her job, and hurriedly headed for the station.
Upon arriving, she saw this scene: three neatly standing young men, around seventeen or eighteen, in front of Li Xianglu, one holding a tea mug while the other two stood guard like bodyguards.
As soon as Li Xianglu saw Qin Xi, she attempted to stand up, but one of the young men with a slicked-back hairdo stepped forward, seemingly blocking Qin Xi’s approach. Qin Xi glared at him with an icy stare. The man was taken aback at first, but by then Li Xianglu had already deftly climbed up from her chair and walked over to Qin Xi.
Qin Xi quickly looked her over, and thankfully she was unharmed. After helping her sit back down, the three young men quickly gathered around again, each looking cautiously at the newly arrived Qin Xi.
Li Xianglu explained with a touch of helplessness, "That’s Da Li – this is my husband, Qin Xi."
The one called Da Li was the slick-haired, sturdy young man leading the trio. Even after hearing this, his vigilance remained unchanged. The group continued to form a protective circle around them.
Qin Xi was puzzled. Who are these people?
Li Xianglu explained helplessly, "These three were the ones who went to withdraw money from the bank, and they were the ones who called the police. Because of them, we were rescued quickly. Then this Da Li said he was my brother’s sister and that his big brother sent him to protect me."
Qin Xi frowned, "Who is their big brother?"
Li Xianglu shook her head, "They didn’t say."
Qin Xi glanced at the trio’s attire and decided not to press further. With Mr. Li’s facilitation, the police first took Li Xianglu’s statement. Today’s incident was too serious, it couldn’t wait until the next day, so Li Xianglu, despite being pregnant, had to remain.
