Chronicle of the 70s

Chapter 304 - 293: Colleague, First Update

Qin Xi dropped Li Xianglu at the entrance and was about to ride back when she saw a figure, swift as the wind, heading towards the back yard. That figure was wearing a familiar cyan-green short-sleeved shirt; Qin Xi turned around and rode back.

Li Xianglu, lazily changing clothes, wore a white dacron short-sleeved shirt which was part of her work uniform, with a round neckline, coupled with wide-leg black trousers and round-heeled black leather shoes. Of course, this outfit wasn’t free; it cost fifteen yuan.

Just as Li Xianglu put on her shirt, the dressing room door was abruptly pushed open from the outside, slamming against the wall. She looked up only to see a green shadow charging at her. Swiftly stepping aside, she focused and recognized the person as Zhou Qingfang.

When Zhou Qingfang saw Li Xianglu, she was so enraged she wanted to grab her but was dodged. Stunned, she glared and asked, "Li Xianglu, what are you dodging for?"

Li Xianglu snorted, already having a rough guess in her mind -- Zhou Qingfang must have found out about her relationship with Grandpa Li. She indifferently responded, "Sister Zhou, what are you trying to do by barging in like this? What if you had hit me? Don’t you know I’m pregnant?"

It was then that Zhou Qingfang came to her senses and glanced down at Li Xianglu’s belly. Furious and anxious, she was irritated, not just because she was denied entry to the Li Family and turned away after waiting two hours at their gate but also because they were denying any recognition of them as family, although it was clear that Li Huai Ren was the uncle who vanished years ago.

Seeing the cold look on Li Xianglu’s face, Zhou Qingfang asked, "What is your relationship with Li Huai Ren?"

Li Xianglu frowned: "Sister Zhou, it’s quite rude of you to abruptly pry into someone else’s family matters." Saying this, she turned to leave, and Zhou Qingfang, in her urgency, reached out to grab her again.

Li Xianglu knew some people just couldn’t use words and pushed away the hand that reached out. She coldly said, "I believe I’ve told you once already, don’t touch me without permission!"

Zhou Qingfang had always thought Li Xianglu was a docile person, only to find out today that she was not so good-tempered as to be without principles.
