Chapter 2479: Sundering the lightning
Cain’s eyes were cold as he gazed at the group advancing into the area where he had killed Jasmir.
"They’re fast," he thought, observing the precision in their movements. "It seems they have methods to detect energy fluctuations I can’t perceive."
He committed that realization to memory. Underestimating unknown detection methods was how assassins often met their demise.
The Scarlet King’s gaze sharpened as he measured the newcomers. He could kill them all without difficulty. The leader was merely a Middle Alpha-Omega Overgod—far beneath his current battle power. A single decisive strike would erase the entire squad before they understood what had happened.
But unnecessary bloodshed would leave traces.
A sudden burst of energy in a remote location, especially without a Royal Blutlinie of the Eternal Soul Kingdom dying, might raise mild curiosity at best. Yet if the very team dispatched to investigate such an anomaly vanished as well, the message would be unmistakable: a powerful outsider had arrived.
Cain would not make that mistake.
Besides, thanks to Aerion’s memories and the knowledge extracted from Jasmir, he already had the perfect target.
Without hesitation, he turned and vanished.
Using the Power of Karma, Cain maintained his top speed while perfectly concealing his presence. The purple threads of fate around him blurred and twisted, masking his existence from causal detection. At the same time, his awareness expanded outward, vigilant for any hidden observers.
He did not allow confidence to become arrogance.
Thrusting too much on the Power of Karma, after all, was precisely how Aerion had been taken by surprise by Cain.
