Chapter 1852: Inner Universe (I)
Cain inhaled deeply, calming the surge of greed and desire rising in his heart.
The temptation before him was immense.
This place—this chamber hidden beneath the Everlife Continent—was ancient beyond reckoning. Formed long before the rise of most ArchDeities’ Heavens, the waters flowing through the Well of Endless Stars had been steeped in cosmic power across countless millennia. Every droplet contained echoes of laws—of gravity, of time, of space—condensed into a stream capable of elevating even ArchDeities in their cultivation.
If it had been possible to move the well, Divine Sea would have taken it to her domain long ago, protecting it if it were her greatest treasure, because in a way, it was. But the well was bound to the earth, tied into the very spiritual lattice of the continent. Any attempt to excavate it would collapse the surrounding ley lines and awaken dormant catastrophes better left undisturbed.
Secrecy had been her safeguard.
She had cultivated here in silence for millions of years, protecting the well’s location with layers of illusion, barriers, and misdirection from the time she was merely a Divine Trascendence Master. It was her greatest secret—and her greatest lucky chance.
Until someone betrayed her.
And now, Cain stood where no outsider ever should have.
Without a word, Divine Sea guided him forward, stopping several paces from the well’s glowing rim. The light it emitted was not harsh, but soft—like a galaxy suspended in water, spiraling slowly in a never-ending dance.
Raising her hand, Divine Sea made a slight gesture, but with it, a portion of her soul fused into the waters, making them tremble for a instant.
The figure of Divine Sea seemed to reflect inside the well for a moment, and after making sure it worked, she turned toward Cain.
"It is done," she said quietly. "I’ve adjusted the well’s output. You’ll receive a foundation’s worth of liquid essence. No more."
