Chapter 1744: Possession
Just as the rapier was about to pierce Cain’s right eye, he opened his jaws—and a massive torrent of red flames erupted outward, blasting directly into Tania’s chest and sending her flying like a meteor across the battlefield.
Not even a second later, Cain’s hand moved with uncanny precision, intercepting the axe at the edge of its arc. With a single motion, he redirected its force downward, slamming it into the ground. The impact cracked the earth and buried the weapon deep into the shattered stone.
“Ahhh!”
A scream of pain echoed from beneath the ruptured battlefield. Hercule had attempted a stealth assault, hiding beneath the surface. But Cain had anticipated it.
He struck the embedded axe again, forcing it even deeper into the earth. The shockwave ripped through the ground, forcing Hercule out of hiding. The Titan Wolf emerged violently from below, only to be greeted by a brutal punch to the stomach that sent him hurtling backward.
Moments later, both Tania and Hercule soared back into the sky. Their bodies were battered, but the fury in their eyes had only intensified. Cold rage burned in their expressions as they clenched their fists and unleashed a flood of power. More and more energy poured into their bodies, surging from their divine patrons with reckless abandon.
Cain narrowed his golden eyes.
“Ruthless indeed,” he muttered.
He understood exactly what was happening. The sudden influx of power was a double-edged sword. Such unnatural enhancements would surely lead to catastrophic backlash on Tania and Hercule’s bodies.
Clearly, Lilith and Lucius—the ones controlling them now—had no intention of preserving the vessels. They had pushed the Blood Princess and the Wolf Titan to the absolute limit, fueling them until they were on the brink of bursting.
The duo struck again.
