The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1568: Middle Divine Transformation Rank

Chapter 1568: Middle Divine Transformation Rank

Cain had traveled far from the battlefield, leaving behind the chaos, the bloodshed, and the countless dead who had fallen in the clash between himself and Karun’s forces. Unbeknownst to him, Karun and the surviving Divine Transcendence Masters had butchered the remaining Divine Transformation cultivators before offering their Gu Insects to another faction leader.

Even if Cain had known, he wouldn’t have cared. He was no hypocrite. He had intended to kill those people himself; their demise at the hands of others mattered little to him. Mourning them would be pointless sentimentality, something he had long since cast aside.

For nearly three hours, Cain continued flying, his energy reserves stabilizing as his body recovered from the arduous battle. Eventually, he spotted a vast body of water nestled between towering cliffs. Without hesitation, he dove in, breaking the surface with barely a ripple.

As he descended toward the bottom of the lake, Cain fused his aura with the water, employing the Law of Water to blend seamlessly with his surroundings. The effect was immediate. His presence faded, rendered undetectable even to a Peak Divine Transcendence Master. Now fully concealed, he could finally focus on recovery.

He settled onto the lakebed, closing his eyes as Star Power and the Law of Fire ignited within him, surging through his blood and flesh. Heat flared along his wounds, each searing burn purging the remnants of necrotic Star Power left behind by Karun’s attacks.

A sharp, stinging pain shot through his nerves as his own flames consumed the foreign energy. Cleansing his body came first. Before his regeneration could take effect, he needed to expel every trace of the corrupted power eating away at him from the inside.

Luckily, Cain had a natural advantage. His Flareborn Monarch Star Power and mastery of the Law of Fire allowed him to purge poisonous energy through fire. After less than two hours, the last vestiges of Karun’s attack had faded from his system.

Cain exhaled slowly, a faint smirk curling his lips. “Had that necrotic energy lingered any longer, it could have compromised my foundation… even my talent.” That was not a risk he was willing to take.

Now that his body was cleansed, it was time to capitalize on his victory. With a flick of his wrist, Cain summoned a shadow cocoon from his spatial ring. The cocoon unraveled, revealing an unconscious Essence Evolution Peak Divine Transformation Master—one of the elites he had captured alive during the battle.
