Kingsley City’s climate is dry, and rain is rare.

This light drizzle of autumn rain, moistening everything, made the air crisp and the view vibrant and lively.

Mr. Ghost Hayes stood under the eaves, stretching lazily before dragging a chair outside to sit and pick his teeth.

Around the lakeside villa were six scattered houses, all bought by Alexander Summers, who left them unoccupied, while Mr. Ghost Hayes had always been living here.

Hunter Dalton would occasionally come to stay for a few days.

But every time he came, he was never as leisurely as Mr. Ghost Hayes; he was tense and couldn’t relax.

Hunter Dalton entered the courtyard, his body draped with dampness, and his trousers straight, but spattered with embarrassing mud spots.

Mr. Ghost Hayes lifted his eyelids to look at him, his face showing some schadenfreude, "Did you catch up to it?"

Hunter shook his head, modestly saying, "It escaped too quickly, I’m afraid only an elder like yourself could subdue it."
