October, the second month of Purple Summers’ internship.
With nearly seven months of pregnancy and cooler weather necessitating thicker clothes, Purple felt a heavy weight each day, pressing down on her until she felt like she could scarcely breathe.
The number of bodyguards and vehicles accompanying her had doubled, and a medical staff member was added to the team just in case.
Atra Blanc told her that she had a strong constitution and didn’t need to worry, just to stay calm and wait for the delivery.
Yet Purple still felt uneasy. She had heard that twins often come early, and if that were the case, she might give birth next month...
Alexander Summers called to say he would try to arrange his work this month and come back next month to be with her for the delivery. He was planning the timing meticulously: after giving birth, there would be the puerperium, and then it would nearly be winter break, perfect timing to pick up his wife, kids, and mother to vacation in Pearlpoint together.
Plans are just plans, and whether they could proceed smoothly seemed to be a matter of fate.
As Purple cradled her belly, she thought, "You two have to be good, don’t come out too early..."
It would be terribly awkward if she went into labor during the court hearing.
