The Ancient Gatekeeper. Strangely enough, it didn’t gain any new attack patterns when it entered phase two.
It literally goes mad.
“I-It’s coming this way!”
“Damn it. Don’t block it! Just let it pass! It should still have someone else marked as its target anyway.”
“That cleric... Smart move he pulled there.”
The five-person party pressed themselves tightly against the wall, intending to let the Gatekeeper rush past them unhindered. But unfortunately, the party’s Cleric accidentally made eye contact with the Mad Gatekeeperduring that process.
Boom!
“Huh?”
The Cleric, who had been stuck flat against the wall, let out a sound like air escaping from a punctured balloon. His mind couldn’t catch up to what had just happened, why he was suddenly sprawled on the floor.
“Why...?”
Wasn’t the Gatekeeper supposed to chase only its designated target, no matter what? Even as his thoughts spun in confusion, the question remained unanswered. However, before he could comprehend it, the Mad Gatekeeper’s blade came crashing down on his head. Everyone gasped as the Cleric’s body dissolved into fine particles and vanished. A Cleric, considered essential for clearing the labyrinth, especially below the third floor, was now gone.
Only Kai observed the situation with interest.
