The count turned to her, his gaze sharpening slightly. "Orendel… I’ve heard things. A land ruled by a bastard son who executed his corrupt father and brother."

Ian lowered his cup as he glanced at Mev. "He’s king of the Kingdom of Orendel now. People call him the Bastard King. It started as an insult, but he seems to like it."
"The Bastard King…" The count murmured.
Mev, holding the bottle, leaned forward and refilled his nearly empty cup.
