Legend of Dragon Son-in-law

Chapter 2027: Thousand-clouds Mountain

Five-river Province, Thousand-clouds Mountain.

Pruitt Wilde, holding a huge axe with one hand, sat on a stone.

"Little girl, don’t worry." He spoke with his back to Quella Radcliffe, glancing at the sun overhead. "In about an hour, someone will come to pick you up. By then, you’ll be safe."

"I can’t understand, why take me? And then ensure my safety." Quella Radcliffe wasn’t afraid.

Her mind was sharp, and having stayed by Julius Reed’s side for so long, her courage and knowledge naturally grew. "Can you tell me why?"

For some reason, when confronting the ancient War God, Quella felt no fear.

"For this matter, you should ask the Master yourself." Pruitt Wilde glanced at his severed arm and shook his head.

"Stay here, and without my orders, don’t move around." Pruitt felt the power within him was becoming hard to suppress.

He tossed his phone to Quella and walked to the edge of the cliff, leaping off!

"Hey..."

Quella was startled.

This was an abyss!

If he fell, wouldn’t he be smashed into a pulp!

She walked to the cliff’s edge and looked down.

A cold wind swept by.

Quella’s legs went weak, and she hurriedly stepped back.

Too high!

On Thousand-clouds Mountain, only Quella remained.

This was the peak, and the temperature was extremely low.

After a while, Quella was shivering from the cold.

Before long.

A sound of footsteps came from behind her.

Quella turned her head; it was a stranger.

"Little girl, what are you doing here alone?" The man stood in front of Quella, sizing her up for a while, and then spoke: "I really didn’t expect, by the master’s side, there was such a one-of-a-kind woman."

After confirming multiple times, he took out a phone from his pocket and made a call. "Brother, it’s confirmed, she is indeed an extreme yin body. Rest assured, there’s no mistake."

After the call, the man bent over and asked, "Where’s the big guy?"

Quella thought for a moment; perhaps "big guy" referred to Pruitt, so she pointed to the cliff: "He jumped."

"Damn!" the man cursed.

He walked to the cliff and took a look. "Truly the War God Pruitt, daring to jump from such a height."

After speaking, he returned to Quella’s side. "Little girl, you’re pretty dangerous today. In a few hours, there will be many people fighting over you."

"Then why don’t you take me away?" Quella was a bit surprised.

Fighting over her?

What’s the reason?

Just because she’s the master’s nominal wife?

Then why not capture Hiddy?

"With Pruitt here, no one dares to make a move." Just as the man’s words fell, a hand extended from the edge of the cliff.

Immediately after, Pruitt leapt back up.

His clothes were tattered, evidently injured severely.

"What, the mighty Mountain Lord, Skilid City Lord, can’t even handle this and has to send a lackey?"

Pruitt finally suppressed the power within himself.

However, it was still unclear how long this suppression would last.

The things in the temple were constantly trying to take over his body; the items from the last meeting with Julius Reed had some effect, but forceful suppression was still difficult.

But the good news was that Pruitt now controlled his body much longer than before.

And there were still signs before losing control of his mind.

He could try to place himself in wastelands to limit his actions.

"The Emperor jokes." The man smiled, bowing respectfully. "I’m the fastest runner among the Thirty-Six Heavenly Gangs. The city lord will be here in a while."

"Oh?" Pruitt scrutinized him, huffing coldly, "I heard you all died and became puppets."

"Does it matter?" the man chuckled. "As long as we serve the city lord, it’s enough."

"Then get lost!"

Pruitt took an abrupt step forward, swinging the war axe!

Clang!

The man’s form flickered, and the war axe struck the stone, sparking.

Then, Pruitt swung forward, slicing the man in half!

But the clothes were empty inside.

Nothing was within.

The man, glancing at himself, shrugged, "Since the Emperor isn’t welcoming me, I’ll just wait for the city lord down the mountain."

After speaking, he saluted and vanished from where he stood.

"Damn, he’s been controlled by Pranay Martinez! The old Skilid City, today’s Pranay Martinez, indeed terrifying!"

Pruitt, holding the war axe, glanced at the sun’s position, murmuring, "The person should be coming."

As soon as his words ended.

A cotton coat was draped over Quella’s shoulders.

"Hawthorne, take her back." Julius Reed gestured, and Hawthorne drove over a jeep.

"What is this..." Quella felt joy upon seeing Julius Reed but was then surprised.

Even with the Shadow Kims mask on, Quella could clearly feel this was her husband.

"Let’s go; I’ll handle things here." Julius Reed smiled, touching her face.

As long as Pranay Martinez believed it, the others would too.

Thus, there was no point in Quella staying any longer.

"Alright, take care of yourself." Quella shivered.

The wind on the mountain top was too cold.

It wore people out.

Once the jeep left, Hiddy sat where Quella had just been.

Both the clothes and demeanor were very similar.

Except for the extreme yin body, which couldn’t be mimicked.

Fortunately, Pranay Martinez’s people had checked before, which was enough to convince them.

"Is the thing inside still not suppressed?" Julius Reed tossed Pruitt a black cloth bag.

It contained a severed arm.

This was a stolen arm from the Black Pine League.

"Completely suppressing it is almost impossible. But it’s much better now than before." Pruitt picked up the arm and pressed it against his shoulder, gaining full mobility.

"I have some new thoughts about the temple. After dealing with these people, we should talk it over."

Julius Reed offered Pruitt completion because the situation was indeed under control.

Otherwise, it would be like releasing a tiger back into the mountain.

"My current wish is to smash that temple." Pruitt stretched his limbs, enjoying being whole again. "Trying to replace me!"

He could tolerate anything except that!

"Brother Pruitt."

Suddenly.

A voice came from not far away.

Guilt Emperor, clad in a white robe, appeared on Thousand-clouds Mountain, exuding an immortal aura.

"You aren’t dead." Pruitt stared at Guilt Emperor, tone unusually cold.

Deceiving everyone, even him.

"Barely." Guilt Emperor walked with a smile to Hidddy’s side, only to be stopped by Pruitt. "Cowardly, yet you dare come here now."

In Pruitt’s mind, Guilt Emperor was killed alongside him.

Only to find out in the end, that other emperors lived freely.

Only honest people really fought to the death.

Pruitt felt the malice of man’s heart.

"It’s not just me; it seems Pranay Martinez is here too. Unexpectedly, this guy’s luck saved him, reclaiming his body from the temple’s grasp." Guilt Emperor took out a compass, surprisedly saying, "How can it be!"
