Chapter 1736: A Departure Without Goodbye
"Is this female student still unconscious? The ambulance is here, let’s send her over," the police officer said, prompting everyone to jump into action and follow the officer’s instructions to get Li Shi onto the ambulance.
After the ambulance left with Li Shi, Gu Fan felt anxious and kept watching the ambulance as it drove away.
One of the classmates joked, "Is it necessary? Li Shi is just overly scared; she’ll be fine. In a few days, you two can meet again. What’s that saying? Absence makes the heart grow fonder."
"Screw you!" Gu Fan kicked out, but the classmate dodged it.
"We’ll wait for you in the bus. Take a last look and bid Li Shi farewell; hurry back and don’t act like you’re the most sentimental one," the classmate said with a laugh, then returned to the bus with the others.
Gu Fan glanced at the calm face of the bus driver and the busy rescue workers, still unable to accept the idea that everything he had experienced was just an illusion.
So Gu Fan approached a police officer to inquire about the detailed events.
According to the officer, they had been tracking seven fugitives to this location when they found them causing trouble. Unfortunately, they arrived a bit late, as many had been killed by these fugitives.
Gu Fan then asked about the whereabouts of the seven fugitives, only to be told that they had all been shot dead, their bodies wrapped in white cloth and temporarily set aside.
"What?" Gu Fan glanced at the seven bodies wrapped in white cloth not far away, feeling a chill up his spine.
Several of these fugitives had been killed by the monster, yet now the police said they shot the fugitives, which was vastly different from Gu Fan’s memory.
