Chapter 1715: Falling
Over at the deserted town, Gu Fan brought back both good and bad news. The good news, naturally, was that people outside had already discovered them and were in the midst of a rescue operation. This, without a doubt, rekindled hope among the desperate crowd, boosting their spirits.
The bad news, however, was that it would take a few days for the people outside to dig through the tunnel, and precisely those few days were extremely critical.
Someone couldn’t help but complain, "What’s going on? Why are they so slow? Don’t they know rescuing people is as urgent as putting out a fire?"
In response, Gu Fan explained, "I guess they’re worried that excavating too quickly might cause a more serious secondary collapse. Also, they can’t hear us clearly, and they don’t know our current situation."
"If it’s unclear, I’ll go say it. I have a loud voice. Let them send a helicopter," one impatient person wanted to rush to the tunnel side.
Gu Fan quickly stopped that person because it was too dangerous; the monster could attack at any moment.
There was nothing more everyone could do but wait for the rescue from outside.
Li Shi echoed, "We have to trust that the people outside are professional enough and will definitely think of using a helicopter to save us."
"Exactly!" Everyone nodded in agreement, thinking perhaps they wouldn’t have to wait a few days and could leave soon.
Gu Fan looked up at the sky and wondered to himself, "Can helicopters really work? How many people can it take at once, and what about those left behind?"
Gu Fan didn’t voice his concerns, not wanting to dampen the high spirits that had just been lifted.
