After a long journey, everyone arrived at a range of mountains that interconnected like a barrier, with no visible path to traverse through them.
Gu Fan examined the map; the mountain range was enormous. It would take at least twelve hours to cut through it from any direction, and looping around it could take almost three days.
Locating the enemy’s weapon base within such a vast area was easier said than done.
The female team member who gathered intelligence only inquired about the importance of the enemy bases, their contents, their defenses, and their locations. She hadn’t thought to ask how to enter the weapons base from a particular direction.
With no other options, they had to resort to deploying drones for reconnaissance, while the others split into groups to circle the mountain range, hoping to find an entrance, crude as the method was.
Gu Fan started to study the map. Without knowledge of the surrounding geography, he couldn’t determine the best route construction approach nor guess from which direction the enemy might access the range.
But, putting himself in the enemy’s shoes, if Gu Fan were to establish a base within these mountains, significant construction work would be necessary, requiring substantial material transport. From which city would the enemy marshal supplies?
Lu Yi couldn’t help complaining—if they had satellite navigation, they could easily locate all the roads nearby, making their current search seem foolish.
