Chapter 1603: An Unyielding Person
Everyone was racing against time. Leng Feng did his best to clear any traces left by his team during their retreat before driving back to the area.
Shortly after, the sound of a helicopter hovered above Leng Feng’s head. He knew he had been exposed and targeted, but he drove westward regardless, hoping to lead the enemy away.
The enemy forces, having gathered intelligence from the helicopter, knew about a vehicle speeding through the area but chose not to intercept. They weren’t about to fall for the bait so easily.
After searching through the dilapidated factory, the enemy found signs of more than one person having been there, estimating that it was a group of the resistance army and suspecting it to be one of their bases.
Counting the beds, this base must have housed at least fifty people. Now that the base was empty, where have these fifty-odd people gone? Are they still in this area?
If the resistance army had left, then why was there only one vehicle speeding away? Why not hide instead? This vehicle could at most hold five people. Where did the other vehicles of the resistance army go?
The enemy quickly took action. The helicopter ignored Leng Feng and began circling the perimeter of the area, searching for traces of the resistance army’s convoy.
Leng Feng saw that things were not developing as he had expected and became anxious. The helicopter flew high, fast, and had a broad view. If this continued, it really might discover Jie, Lu Yi, and Gu Xiaojin’s whereabouts.
With no other choice left, Leng Feng abruptly stopped the car and, taking his gun, charged out. He aimed at the sky and fired wildly, intending to draw the helicopter’s attention.
