"Is there a point to all this?" Gu Fan felt bemused, to lure Organization X down here, all this pomp, as if the enigmatic masked person could have just outright attacked.
Seeing Gu Fan about to step into the Eternal Life Device, Lin Xi grabbed him, her worried expression as though Gu Fan entering the device meant no turning back.
"Don’t worry, I’ll just go lie down for a bit, how bad could it possibly get?" Gu Fan wasn’t overthinking, figuring at worst he would emerge unscathed, at best, like the big boss, attain perfect eternal life.
"But..." Lin Xi wanted to say more but was interrupted by the mysterious masked person: "Enough, stop nagging, Lin Xi."
Gu Fan gave a slight smile to reassure Lin Xi, then resolutely stepped into the Eternal Life Device.
"Very good!" The mysterious masked person swiftly pressed several buttons on the device, and as its shell closed, Gu Fan quickly fell into a deep slumber inside.
The mysterious masked person picked up a camera and aimed it at Gu Fan in the device, sending the footage explicitly to Organization X.
