Chapter 1387: Dark Ambush
Lie Dian let out a thunderous roar, and a massive current of electricity erupted all at once. With one swipe of his hand, a torrent of lightning surged forward, electrocuting a vampire into charred remains on the ground.
Lie Tie, seizing the opportunity, immediately sprinted over and finished off those vampires who had lost their ability to move with wooden spikes.
"Again!" Lie Dian took aim at another vampire and then released another bolt of lightning with his palm.
The vampire, relying on speed, narrowly escaped; it secretly rejoiced at having dodged a bullet. But Lie Dian’s second strike swiftly followed. This time, the vampire had no way to avoid it and was caught in the current.
And so, Lie Dian was responsible for knocking down the vampires, while Lie Tie was tasked with delivering the fatal blow. Working in tandem, they quickly took care of five vampires.
However, a quick resolution to the fight came at a cost—Lie Dian, having expended too much energy, was now deathly pale and kneeling on one knee, gasping for air, appearing extremely weakened.
Previously, after releasing a current of electricity, Lie Dian would need to accumulate a bit of electrical energy before releasing another, to maintain stamina for prolonged combat. Now, after unleashing so much in one go, it felt as though his body had been hollowed out, which can best be described as the difference between long-distance running and sprinting.
"Are you okay?" Lie Tie came over to check on his comrade when suddenly, out of the darkness, a whistling sound—the swipe of a flying knife brushed past Lie Tie’s ear and plunged relentlessly through Lie Dian’s throat.
Lie Dian slumped onto the ground, his eyes wide open in shock, still not understanding how he had been taken down.
"This..." Lie Tie saw his companion fall, his eyes filled with panic, which was gradually replaced by a surge of rage.
"Damn it, show yourself." Lie Tie was furious, his fists clenched, his muscles bulging with anger.
