Gu Fan got the big boss’s mobile number and immediately contacted him, claiming that it had been a long time since they met and he wanted to thank the big boss for saving his life last time. So, he invited the big boss to dinner and asked him to bring Irina along, under the pretense of building rapport. With rapport, there was bound to be endless possibilities.
Based on the big boss’s understanding of Gu Fan, he knew Gu Fan definitely had something up his sleeve, and it was not going to be anything good. Getting involved would mean getting wrapped up in serious trouble. However, the big boss was also curious to see what Gu Fan had in mind.
So at the agreed time, the big boss and Irina appeared in a decent restaurant’s private room.
"Thank you both for coming. I’m very grateful," Gu Fan was polite, taking the initiative to pour wine for the big boss and Irina. His friendly demeanor was so exaggerated it was suspicious.
Irina looked at the fine wine without any appetite because Gu Fan’s smile across from her seemed malevolent, as if drinking the glass meant she was agreeing to something yet to be discussed.
"Spill it, what’s this all about? If I can help, I will," Irina didn’t want to keep guessing at Gu Fan’s intentions and went straight to the point.
Gu Fan adopted an appearance brimming with emotion, "When I think about how we joined forces against the enemy last time and how we had such synergy on our first collaboration, as if by some predestined force, we were destined to become comrades in battle."
Upon hearing this, Irina showed a look of disdain, "What do you mean, Gu Fan? Last time, you were the one who refused to cooperate with us. Don’t tell me you want to go back on your word now."
Gu Fan feigned surprise, "I refused? How could that be? It would be an immense honor for me to fight alongside you all; only a fool would refuse to cooperate with you."
