Chapter 1081: What Can’t Be Obtained
It was late at night when Su Hui received a call from her superiors, informing her of an urgent mission and instructing her to immediately head to the scene.
Without a word, Su Hui immediately got out of bed, got dressed, and hurried downstairs, just in time to see Gu Fan, who had woken up in the middle of the night and was rummaging through the fridge because of his hunger.
Having lived under the same roof with Su Hui for so long, Gu Fan of course knew that her leaving so late at night meant something major had happened, so he quickly asked, "Sister Su, what’s wrong? What happened?".
"I’m not sure about the details, just stay at home and wait for me to return," Su Hui said as she headed out the door, got into her car, stepped on the gas pedal, and drove straight to the incident site.
Upon arriving at the warehouse base, Su Hui saw that many of her colleagues had already cordoned off the area and were cleaning up.
"My God, what happened here?" Su Hui noticed many people were being carried out, all covered in bloodstains, making it look as if the warehouse had experienced a massacre.
At that moment, Zhuo Hang approached, holding a cup of coffee and kindly offering it to Su Hui, "It’s really tough on you to be called out here in the middle of the night."
"It’s nothing, part of the job," Su Hui replied as she took the coffee and then asked, "You’re not telling me that whatever happened here is related to you, are you?".
Zhuo Hang nodded his head: "This is one of the secret bases of the Special Investigation Team. It was used to collect a lot of data and to monitor some special individuals. Now you see, everything has been destroyed."
